Dear Beaverton Community,
We are thrilled to announce an exciting development for the Beaverton Downtown Association (BDA). As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing and revitalizing our beloved downtown, we are expanding our boundaries to better serve and include more of our vibrant community. This expansion will be effective immediately and will encompass both a Primary Boundary and a Secondary Boundary, each with unique focuses and opportunities.
Primary Boundary: Old Town
Our primary boundary will still include the historic Old Town area. With the continued focus on:
- Securing Grants: Access additional funding opportunities to support a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving our downtown.
- Beautification Projects: Beautification efforts to enhance the aesthetic appeal of Old Town, making it a more attractive destination for residents and visitors alike.
- Place-Making: Creating engaging and welcoming public spaces, we will implement place-making projects to foster community interaction and cultural expression.
- Events: Old Town will host a variety of events designed to celebrate our community’s rich heritage and vibrant present.
- Promotions: Local businesses in Old Town will benefit from increased promotional efforts (as capacity allows) to boost visibility and economic growth.
- Small Business Owner’s Support: We are committed to providing robust support to small business owners in Old Town through resources, networking opportunities, and advocacy.
Secondary Boundary: Central Beaverton
Our secondary boundary will extend to Central Beaverton. While our primary focus remains on Old Town, we recognize the importance of inclusivity and community-wide engagement. Therefore, we will support this area by the below:
- Event Inclusion: As capacity allows, we will include Central Beaverton in our event planning, ensuring that more of our community can participate in and benefit from our activities.
- Promotion: We will promote businesses and events in Central Beaverton as our resources permit, helping to foster a connected and thriving downtown area.
Why We Are Expanding
This expansion is driven by our dedication to creating amore inclusive, vibrant, and prosperous downtown Beaverton. By incorporating Old Town and Central Beaverton into our boundaries, we can:
- Enhance Community Cohesion: Expanding our reach allows us to bring more of Beaverton’s diverse community together, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
- Maximize Resources: Accessing additional grants and funding opportunities enables us to undertake larger and more impactful projects.
- Support Economic Growth: By promoting a wider range of businesses and events, we can stimulate local economic development and provide greater support to small business owners.
- Celebrate Our Heritage: Including Old Town helps us preserve and celebrate Beaverton’s rich history while building a dynamic future.
