INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Andrew is a Community Manager and youth advocate in the Portland Metro area. He has 2 degrees in Business Administration Human Resources and Business Administration Management and Leadership. Andrew has 11 years of Management experience and has focused on growing and building the next generation of leaders. Andrew enjoys cooking and exploring new places as well as working with high school youth and getting them more involved in the community. Andrew joined the Board in 2023 and is excited to bring more to downtown Beaverton.

Kirsten Agard, is a seasoned professional with 19 years of experience in project, event, and change management, including 11 years in Mortgage Home Lending, she holds the rare Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) accreditation, ranking among the top 1% nationally and is the 2nd woman in Oregon to earn this honor.  Kirsten is also the recipient of the American Bankers Association’s ’22 Emerging Leader Award, reflecting her dedication to leadership, diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Serving on the Board since 2019 and as Board Chair of the BDA since January 2020, Kirsten is deeply committed to the downtown community and supporting local businesses, bringing her extensive experience and unwavering dedication to her role as a board member and leader.

Nicole Feightner is an HR professional and has lived in the Beaverton area since 2007. She joined the BDA in the spring of 2019 and chaired the  Organization Committee through 2021. She has been the Vice Chair since January of 2022. Nicole is passionate about bringing volunteers together to make downtown a fun place for all.

Shriya Marla is currently a rising junior at Jesuit High School in Portland Oregon and serves as the Youth Council Chair and Executive Council Secretary on the board. From school to extracurriculars to sports and friends, living and growing up in the Beaverton community has enriched her life. Shriya is a trained Indian classical dancer, learns western classical piano, and is a member of the award winning speech and debate team at Sunset High School. In addition, she leads the South Asian Culture club in her school and actively volunteers at local non-profits. She strives to advocate for causes and initiatives that she is passionate about and is motivated to make a positive difference in the Downtown Beaverton community.

Ruben Halperin

Ruben Halperin

Board Member

Ruben is a resident of Beaverton and works in Beaverton as a Medical Director for Providence Health Plan.   He is passionate about all the changes that are making downtown Beaverton an exciting destination.   As an avid cyclist and walker and a physician with a passion for public health, he is excited about the improvements to the walking and biking infrastructure downtown that are making the area a more livable, vibrant place.

Joe worked for over 30 years developing environmental graphics, wayfinding, and interpretive graphics around the country and abroad. Some of his projects included signage for the Washington DC Civic Center, the Center for Disease Control, Clemson University and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Joe was also involved in designing environmental branding for such well known companies as Texaco, BP, Hyatt Hotels, and Turner Broadcasting. In his spare time Joe likes to do volunteering, gardening, hiking, and home improvement with his wife, Diane.

Kalla is an engineer, entrepreneur & educator. She immigrated to the US over 25 years ago, holds a master’s degree in Computer Science and worked in the hi-tech industry at Hughes, Intel, prior to becoming an educator.  She also served as an advisor to a few non-profit organizations, is actively involved with the local Chamber of Commerce, small business organizations and volunteering at community events.

Jim has been a resident of Beaverton for most of his life. He is currently the Director of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships for the cybersecurity division of Online Business Systems. He has over 25 years of leadership experience, leading teams in Sales, Business Development, Marketingand Operations. Jim enjoys working out, golfing, is an avid walker, and is very proud of his two adult kids. Jim joined the Board in 2023 and is passionate about working on the continued improvements to downtown Beaverton.

Mark is a retiree living in Downtown Beaverton.  He spent 30 years in the high tech industry at Intel, Sequent Computer and RadiSys, and 10 years at a non-profit, Elders in Action.  Mark is passionate about Beaverton being a great place to live, work, and play for people of all ages, abilities, and cultures.

Keegan was born in Alaska, but has spent most of his life in Beaverton, and is a self-described ‘Honorary Oregonian’. A childhood doodling cityscapes in the margins of his notebooks at school led him to pursue a Community Development degree at Portland State University, and he currently works in the commercial real estate appraisal industry. Weekends typically find Keegan and his husband Mike frequenting Downtown coffee shops, breweries, and taphouses, and there’s always a good chance you’ll spot their Pit Bull Tank with them, too. The last several years have brought exciting transformations to Downtown Beaverton, and Keegan joined the Board in 2024 to be a part of helping continue that momentum.

Dr. Jennifer Savage is a Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine and the owner of Wú Wéi Wellness, located in the heart of Downtown Beaverton. She earned her DACM from the Pacific College of Health & Science in 2023 and her Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2021. Dr. Savage is a licensed acupuncturist in Oregon and certified in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine Dermatology, and more. She has extensive training in herbal medicine, acupuncture techniques, and holistic health practices. With a background in clinical laboratory science and secondary education, she has a unique perspective on both Western and Eastern medical practices. Dr. Savage’s wellness philosophy emphasizes the body’s ability to heal when balanced and considers physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental factors. Raised in Wisconsin, she moved to Oregon in 2017 to study Chinese medicine. Outside her practice, she enjoys spending time with her partner David, practicing yoga and Qigong, and exploring nature through hiking, gardening, and photography.

Brian is currently working on his Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at Portland State University. Previously he studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder as well as Business & Sustainability at Western Washington University. Originally hailing from Connecticut, he has made South Western Washington his new home and looks to help promote healthy, sustainable and resilient communities that champion the natural environment. As an avid outdoorsman he looks to share his love of nature and usher in positive changes that will continue to make Beaverton the thriving and vibrant city it is today.

AJ Park is a marketing professional with a background in developing and executing successful marketing strategies for tech companies and small businesses. She grew up in Beaverton and in her youth volunteered for programs like the Elsie Stuhr Center, Meals on Wheels, and VITA through the Oregon Korean Community Center. After getting her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and working in various industries like FinTech, Media, and Advertising, AJ now resides in Downtown Beaverton. She continues to be amazed and proud of how her hometown has grown into the vibrant and diverse community it is today.

Derek Cheng is a junior in high school. After graduating from high school, he plans to get a computer science degree. In his free time, Derek enjoys thrifting, cooking, hanging out with friends, and showcasing his creativity through sewing and organization. He believes in the importance of community connection and strives to bring people together. Through BDA, he hopes to enhance his organizational skills and put it for the better use in the community.

Allison is a senior at Westview High School and serves as the Vice Chair on the board for BDAYC. Allison is the captain at her school, and helped her team achieve the state and metro league championship title. She is also an active tennis player outside of school. Furthermore, Allison is intrigued in helping out for her community- she has been a volunteer since her freshmen year and also leads a non-profit organization that focuses on distributing female hygiene products to all struggling women in Portland. She hopes to grow as a leader as she advocates for issues she’s passionate about and makes Beaverton a wonderful experience for everyone.

Dhatri is a current junior in high school. After high school, she hopes to pursue a degree in business. Along with volunteering for the community and partaking in various organizations to gain business experience, Dhatri hopes to expand her understanding of the local area. Through BDA, she hopes to promote the identity of Beaverton as a community via social media and use the skills she gains toward her future goals. In her free time, Dhatri enjoys napping.
